The Epitome of Corruption

Saw this a few weeks ago, but it's worth reporting. Even casual followers of Iranian news are likely to know about the recent crackdown on immorality. And now, the regime has finally officially announced the arrest of the man in charge of said crackdown....for getting it on with six - yes, six - hookers.

Things to keep in mind:

- Having them pray nude, considering the religious restrictions Iran has on hejab, is just a wee bit more blasphemous than the average Westerner might think.

- The IRGC is responsible for the internal defense of the country. Essentially, they're there to prevent the overthrow of the Islamic Regime, continue exporting the Revolution, etc. They're well-known for being more strictly religious than pretty much most of the rest of the country. And they've got to be going nuts over this one. So what will their reaction be to this little revelation that couldn't be kept quite under wraps? How exactly will they vet the next candidate for the post, when their oh-so-trusted last guy couldn't keep his pants on? Will the crackdown continue or cease? After all, the Iranians are beginning to get a little bit irritated.
